BG @ OHS

Let's get this started! LET THE FUN BEGIN! Does Bowling Green high's 4,652th consecutive win streak come to an end? I doubt it.. But you never know I guess anything is possible. I'd hate for all those BG people to come up to Owensboro and get their belly full of good BBQ and then feel like they're going to puke after the game.

Madisonville vs Hopkinsville

Madisonville downs Hopkinsville 60-42.

Ryan Bowman 29 rush for 392 yds 4 TD's, 3 rec. 56 yds 1 TD.

Madisonville had 4 turnovers and over 100 yds in penalties. Just know, the scoring margin could have been a lot worse. Have to credit the Maroons offensive line (Adams, Gilmore, Qualls, Reynolds and Thompson). They were opening holes the band could have gotten through! 502 yds rushing, 685 total yds.

Barren 20 Monroe 17

Barren scores 3 td's in the 4th to win. With about a minute left Monroe connects on long pass and the receiver gets hit inside the 10 the ball comes out rolls into the endzone Barren falls on it and than runs out the clock. Monroe come out wanting this game more and Barren was flat coming off last week win. Monroe qb leaves the game toward the end of the first half after getting hit in the head but comes back in midway thru the 4th. That seemed kind of questionable to put him back in or why he didn't start the 2nd half.

Graves @ Tilghman predictions

Before the season, I thought if Tilghman had a chance at a win before the district, Graves Co. would be one of two of the games where the Tornado might be competitive. But the defense is just not able to consistently stop passing or running while being susceptible to giving up the big play. Dunigan still shows flashes of great ability at QB but usually he is running for his life. This year may just be a case of doing the best we can with the personnel we have at hand and wait while people get more experience.

Graves 28 - PT 21

Owensboro Catholic @ South Spencer

Can the Aces go into Reo and get the W? Last year the Rebels got the best of OC - can they do it again this year? I believe South Spencer is 2 - 0 not 100% certain of that though. I say either way it goes this will be a tough game for Catholic. Every year this game is close. I know Catholic is going to be missing one of their better players this game - the name escapes me at the moment but that could prove to be costly. I am not sure who to pick in this one. I could see it going either way.

Adair County Indians VS Metcalfe County Hornets

Adair County (2-0) coming off a 52-0 blowout of Breckenridge County travels to Edmonton to face Metcalfe County (1-2) who picked up their first win of the season Friday night at Hart County. Adair Co. comes in averaging 63 points a game on offense while Metcalfe Co. has faced the much tougher opponents. The Indians spread the ball around but have been led by #28 Jordan Lasley with 6 TDs in 2 games, while the Hornets are lead in rushing by #4 Ty McMurtrey. Will the Indian's speed be too much or will the Hornets keep them in check? Who wins this one and why?

There's not a ton of good games on this week's slate

Looking for a game to attend this weekend and nothing looks too enticing.

NEED: A good game with at least one "true" D-I prospect. Not too far from Louisville (1hr-1 1/2hrs).

If this week doesn't make you yawn I don't know what will. Other than Owensboro and Bowling Green I don't see too many good matchups. A little too far

The far west has two games that may raise a brow or two -- Mayfield-Murray, Graves-Tilghman. TOO FAR

John Hardin-Highlands doesn't have it's usual zest. NO PROSPECTS

Bryan Station-LexCath could be an O.K. game but it still doesn't draw me in. Watched LexCath this past week.

Oh course, I could always check out the show, that is Damien Harris, who sees Dunbar this weekend.

Anyone see something I'm missing this weekend because I'm like Ricky Bobby during his first interview -- "I'm not sure what to do with my hands."

Zy'aire Hughes

Zy'aire Hughes committed to Kentucky over a month ago, but not everyone was happy about the call, namely his mother. So much so, she nearly made him de-commit afterward. Her son didn't consult with her before making the decision. And it nearly cost the UK coaching staff.

Things were smoothed over, but Ms. Hughes is set on making sure her son kept his options. Like most mothers in America the recruiting process was a little fuzzy to her. Once she realized her son couldn't sign for over a year, it softened the blow.

The football playing Hughes now has visited Louisville for their game against Murray St. He also tweeted about a trip to Alabama scheduled for Saturday Sept. 13.

Don't think for a minute this recruitment is over.

Zy'aire Hughes - Prospect Profile

Trinity

The 'Rocks start the year 0-1 once again.

Heard something this week that I haven't heard in my entire life: "Bob Beatty lost that game for Trinity." in regards to the 21-14 loss Trinity suffered on the road against Tennessee-power Ensworth.

Larry Harper started the game for THS and from what I'm told turned the ball over three times. I'm not sure if debuting a sophomore in a big out-of-state game was the brightest of ideas. Now, apparently Ryan Young has seized the starting role of quarterback at Trinity.

Running back Donald Brooks is doing something he hasn't done in his career up to this point in running the ball hard and not shying away from contact, for Trinity.

On the defensive side of the ball the people of St. Matthews seem to be very pleased. Play calls, adjustments and having the right players in the right places seem to all equate for a defense worth some praise. Especially after last year's lackluster effort.

Wasn't at the game to enter my opinion of what went down. So I'll leave that one alone. But it seems there's signs pointing both ways for Trinity.
