Henderson Co.

I was expecting a very good team from Henderson looking at the roster last season to this season. I know our QB is focusing on baseball. Are we missing other seniors because I was expecting more varsity players? What's going on in the trenches? We are losing every spot the line during some plays with players who won those battles last year. Madisonville backups pushed us around. We have gotten visibly tired in a couple of games before Madisonville. I know Madisonville is not 49 points better than Henderson. Madisonville could have won that game by 63 points. Try to explain that to someone lol. It just looks strange to an outsider fan. I'm not in the loop anymore.

Tilghmans education continues..

...this Saturday at Ft. Thomas Highlands. Will be a long bus ride up and even longer coming back. But once again, the key is to stay healthy! Regardless of the score, the Tornado will be a better team for facing such compitition. After this game and the next (Henderson County) they should run the table and then have a week off (bye) before starting the playoffs. That bye week on October 31st gives them a chance to regroup, exhale, get healthy...etc. before the playoffs! If ever a team needs it, it would be this years Tilghman team. What a schedule. I still say if they win championships playing 3A and McCracken doesn't (Trinity and X in 6A), some of the players will come back to the City where they belong. They Mustangs have "state of the art" facilities and all the fancy equipment and uniforms but Tilghman doesn't take a back seat to too many schools. Plus, championships are the "skins on the wall". Bling glitters and runner ups are forgotten in a few years.

UK v. UF game

Is it too late to jump on the "bandwagon" with this UK team? If that is possible to jump on a wagon after a loss.

Some of you may have thought I was a UK hater - but that is simply not true. I have been a UK football fan for a long time - although my loyalty for WKU runs much deeper monetarily(as some of you can understand). I must admit that was the most heart, fight and determination I have seen out of any UK football team in a very long time - it was one of the better college football games I've seen in a while. I will also say I once doubted Mark Stoops capability as a head coach but those doubts no longer exist. He had this UK team prepared to go into the swamp and win - he is really starting to change the culture in and around the program. I will also say I am ashamed to admit that in recent years I have not followed UK football like I should - to me it's hard to watch a team play as bad as they have the last few years. I really think those times are over - I hope. I don't really buy into the whole "moral victory" but I do think this is something to build on - I hope this is a reflection of where UK football is going and not how far Florida has fallen.

A few things I took away from this game....

- I should have never doubted Pat Towles his leadership, QB play or his will to win
- I should have never doubted Stoops, Brown or the rest of the staff
- Matt Elam is still BIG as hell - he looked better
- Timmons may be a slot/receiver but he still runs the ball
- Jason Hatcher can play anywhere in the SEC
- Future looks bright with so many underclassmen playing in this game

BG @ OHS

Let's get this started! LET THE FUN BEGIN! Does Bowling Green high's 4,652th consecutive win streak come to an end? I doubt it.. But you never know I guess anything is possible. I'd hate for all those BG people to come up to Owensboro and get their belly full of good BBQ and then feel like they're going to puke after the game.

Madisonville vs Hopkinsville

Madisonville downs Hopkinsville 60-42.

Ryan Bowman 29 rush for 392 yds 4 TD's, 3 rec. 56 yds 1 TD.

Madisonville had 4 turnovers and over 100 yds in penalties. Just know, the scoring margin could have been a lot worse. Have to credit the Maroons offensive line (Adams, Gilmore, Qualls, Reynolds and Thompson). They were opening holes the band could have gotten through! 502 yds rushing, 685 total yds.

Barren 20 Monroe 17

Barren scores 3 td's in the 4th to win. With about a minute left Monroe connects on long pass and the receiver gets hit inside the 10 the ball comes out rolls into the endzone Barren falls on it and than runs out the clock. Monroe come out wanting this game more and Barren was flat coming off last week win. Monroe qb leaves the game toward the end of the first half after getting hit in the head but comes back in midway thru the 4th. That seemed kind of questionable to put him back in or why he didn't start the 2nd half.

Graves @ Tilghman predictions

Before the season, I thought if Tilghman had a chance at a win before the district, Graves Co. would be one of two of the games where the Tornado might be competitive. But the defense is just not able to consistently stop passing or running while being susceptible to giving up the big play. Dunigan still shows flashes of great ability at QB but usually he is running for his life. This year may just be a case of doing the best we can with the personnel we have at hand and wait while people get more experience.

Graves 28 - PT 21
