Who takes this one? First match up for these two teams in recent history(if not ever). Edmonson sits at 5-3 on the season with their three losses being to Butler Co(5-2), ETown(7-0) and
Adair Co(7-0). Larue Co is at 2-5 with wins against Russell Co and Ft. Knox. A win locks in a playoff spot for EC.

Murray dominates ball in first quarter scores first the mayfiled forces a fumble in tiger territory and sccores game tied at half then Kevin Caldwell gets Mayfield going scores in second half mayfield up 14 to seven add a field goal score 17 to seven Mayfield had a caldwell td called back score ended 17 to 7 Mayfield dominated the second half hard fought game Mayfield and Murray just dont like each other and it showed on the field as things got chippy at the last of the game.

1A - Beechwood (4-1) - I'm going with Beechwood ONLY because I believe their schedule has been just slightly better than Paintsville's. Upsets definitely happen, but I see these 2 teams and Pikeville as the top 3 in the smallest class.

2A - Mayfield (5-1) - It's clear to me that Mayfield and DeSales are the two favorites in this class. However, I wouldn't be shocked to see a sleeper come alive. Watch out for Danville. Their defense is good enough and that always gives you a chance.

3A - Boyle County (6-0) - I think the Rebels edge Belfry at this point in the season. No real reason why. Two great coaches. With everything else a tie, I have to go with the team that throws the ball more. I think these two teams are pulling away from the rest of the pack in 3A.

4A - Johnson Central (4-0) - My same story on a different day. 2-horse race in this one. It's South Warren's defense vs. Johnson Central's offense. I'm taking JC's O vs. SW's D. No one else has a shot.

5A - Pulaski County (4-1) - I'm biased and I'll be honest about it. Bowling Green probably deserves it at this point in the season based on strength of schedule. However, I have to stick with the Maroons over the Purples in the color war. I think they get them head-to-head on the turf. Owensboro has also proven they can run with the big dogs in 5A. Wouldn't be shocked to see them there.

6A - Male (6-0) - Trinity may be able to hang with Male the next time around, but they sure didn't act like it in the first meeting between the two powerhouses. I'll believe it when I see it. Male is solid.

Im hoping Mayfield does no reason they shouldnt speed athletes defense they have it all. Replies people lets light this thread up if u view post your opinion.

This is a big game in the class of 3A. The winner not only puts themselves in the drivers seat for the district title but proves it's worthy of a top 5 ranking in their class and should be considered a legitimate threat for a state title. Also note worthy the playoff system this year East travels West so home field advantage is on the line
as well until the coveted trip to Bowling Green in December.

I saw this on another board and thought it would be interesting to see where everyone stands and how opinions change periodically throughout the season. I will try to repost this in about 3-game increments or so to see how everyone's mind changes based on weekly performance.

1A - Beechwood - However, I think Pikeville and Paintsville are right on their heels.

2A - Mayfield - Don't hate me DeSales. There's time to change my mind. It's early.

3A - Belfry - This is the most wide-open class to me. There are 5-6 teams I can see taking it when the dust settles. Some will call me crazy when I say this. By the end, watch out for Corbin.

4A - Johnson Central - This could literally be a toss-up with South Warren, but I think JC has the slight edge. No one else has a shot. Take that to the bank.

5A - Pulaski County - I don't think PC is clear-cut by no means. With that said, I haven't been overly impressed with anyone else in the class. Bowling Green would be my only other consideration at this point. Owensboro has the opportunity to jump in there this week if they want. I'm trying not to give up on Highlands, but they're making it difficult.

6A - Trinity - It's hard to go against Trinity. I could see an upset with either Male or Scott County though.

Great job by the 3A Caldwell County Tigers going to 6A Henderson County. Caldwell County dominated this game from start to finish winning easily 51-20. Tigers roll. It is hard to believe that Henderson County is one of the biggest KY high schools every year with right at 2,000 students and got clawed by the 3A Tigers. Henderson County is not very good, especially on defense.

Allen Co.- Scottsville at Barren Co. The Patriots go for the sweep.

Warren Central at Bowling Green. Can the Dragons build on the Meade Co win?

Hopkinsville at Christian Co.-- Should be a good one.

Caldwell Co at Henderson Co-- Caldwell is on a roll.

Graves Co at Mayfield-- This game never ends.

South Warren at North Hardin--Sparta tries to conquer Hardin Co.

Franklin-Simpson at Monroe Co--Use the Parkway not Hwy 100

Glasgow at Warren East--Raiders and Scotties both need a win

Scott Co at Lafayette--The Generals have a 4 Star and a 5 Star Offensive linemen.

Lift for Life Academy at McCracken Co.--Let's see what happens.

Who takes this one? EC is 3-1 and coming off back to back wins over rival Grayson and Warren East. Metcalfe is 0-4 but put up a great effort last Friday against Adair Co.

Trinity vs Tenn power Ensworth. Trinity wins 45 to zip. The Rocks have team speed everywhere. Qb did a good job for his first game and has major room to improve as he gets experience. Backs are good and their defense is terrific. Punter booms the ball and their kicker has a great leg. Hit a 40 yarder with 10 to spare. I honestly did not see a weakness. Size as well but that overall speed is something. Defense returned a bunch from last year. Secondary was questionable but not last night.

Male rolls all the way to Bowling Green, but not before a tough game with Scott Co. and a complete clash of styles.

Highlands will not bounce back and this will be known as one of its worst seasons on record.

DeSales goes undefeated and three-peats in 2A.

One of the 6A powers in Louisville will be looking for a new coach after this season.

Paintsville gets it done in 1A.

Gibson Southern is the 2nd ranked team in Indiana's Class 3A. Henderson County is one of the largest high schools in Kentucky's Class 6A. Henderson County won the coin toss and elected to defer to the 2nd half. Bad mistake against Gibson Southern which came into the game averaging 63 points a game and outscoring its opponents 189-7 in its first three games. YES, averaging 63 points a game in football!!!! Gibson Southern scored at will against Henderson County's defense which looked lost. Gibson Southern's defense is just as good, if not better than, as its offense. The Titans defense smothered Henderson County's offense like a blanket. The Titans forced 4 Henderson County turnovers and scored off all of them. In all honesty, Henderson County looked like a bad junior varsity team against Gibson Southern. It was 49-0 at the half.Gibson Southern had 316 total yards in the 1st half compared to only 56 total yards for Henderson County. It was 56-0 before Henderson County scored with 5 minutes remaining in the game under the running clock mercy rule. IF there was not a running clock, Gibson Southern could have scored 70 or more points against Henderson County.

Both are 2-1 Barren coming off a big rivalry loss against Glasgow and will want to bounce back with a W against Monroe. Monroe coming off a win against allen county and looks to be on a roll, Monroe has had a bad taste in their mouths since the last meeting when Barren came back and beat them in the 4th quarter last year. Both teams are senior dominant! who wins this match up?
