Taylor Co. Cardinals @ Green Co. Dragons

Taylor County (3-6) coming off a 24-6 win at Barren County will travel to Greensburg to take on Green County (2-6) who is coming off a BYE week and celebrating Senior Night. There will be some unusual air at Dragon Stadium as the two neighboring towns come together on Halloween Night for some High School Football. With the vast improvement of Taylor Co. under the head coach Dudley Hilton, can the Dragons close the regular season with a win over the Cardinals? Thoughts.

#1 (AA) Caldwell Co. @ #1 (A) Mayfield

Any guesses on how this one is going to turn out? Really surprised it isn't even a topic yet...

I believe it will be a great one. No doubt about that but this QB from Caldwell whose committed to Purdue is the real deal (my opinion from what I've seen this year so far , is a far better all around QB than the great "Corey Robinson" from Lone Oak a few years back!) Stands in the pocket as well as moves around inside and outside the pocket, big build, fast, very athletic and also is a play maker will several on his team...

This game is going to be the best feeler gauge on how both teams will react when ending the season going into the playoffs! Great athletes on both sides of the ball! Should be one to watch out for!

Pride & Tradition Never Graduates

But still, how is this not a topic....

Caverna Colonels @ Metcalfe Co. Hornets

As the regular season comes to a close tonight for Caverna (3-6), they will travel to Metcalfe Co (3-6) for their Senior Night. Both teams needing a win heading into the playoffs as Caverna will face powerhouse Mayfield and Metcalfe Co looks to have a home meeting with Bardstown possibly. Thursday Night High School Football, who wins?

Tilghman???

After a very rough start, Tilghman seems to be playing better, albeit against weak competition. They have outscored their last three opponents 160-24. They seem to get their act together better towards the end of the season and play well in the playoffs, especially last year, defeating South Warren, but falling apart against Wayne. Does anyone else think Tilghman has gotten it together, or is the weaker teams, or both?

Bryant Pirtle

Who knows how into Pirtle the Vols and Cards really are. In my opinion, both schools are recruiting targets they value above him that would fill their outside line backer and defensive end needs.

Both schools may in fact value Pirtle as scholarship worthy, but we may never see an offer tendered. It has been no secret that Pirtle still has some ways to go to meet NCAA qualification standards.

Still, it's certainly something to watch.

Regardless, Pirtle has been the highest rising prospect all year. Really flourished as a senior.

Bryant Pirtle -- Prospect Profile

McCracken at Henderson

-----Big game in Hendo land for the Colonels and Coach Lewis. McCracken comes in as a clear favorite but Hendo playing better and they have some kids back who have been injured.I think the game will be much closer than anticipated. Neither can wait for the prize, the winner gets Manual at home in the first round and the loser gets Trinity at home. Both will be looking forward to those buses showing up at thier respective stadiums-----

The Old Rivalry

Male and Manual square off in one of the country's oldest rivalries.

I'm going to use this platform to rant about how mad I am Mike Nero got hurt this year. He's a great kid, talent and I think with him running the ball Manual would be undefeated going into this game and might even have beaten Male this Friday with him. And because you never know who's reading these threads I-AA coaches, if you have room next season to redshirt and rehab Nero, I promise your investment will be returned by his play when he's back at 100%.

With that said, Male will end it's current losing streak to Manual Friday by 14+.

4A Region 2

For my friends in the West, there are 2 huge games up this way tonight. Collins is at a solid N. Oldham team. With a Collins win, they clinch the district. With a loss, they will end up the 3 seed. Word in the CJ is that Collins is going with freshman QB.
Fairfale at Doss. Doss is loaded with talent but like all the other teams in that district, they couldn't win a non district games. Not many would win against those schedules either. If Fairfale wins, they win district and home field thru playoffs. Doss wins and throws that district into a 3way tie and I don't even know how they will sort that out.
