Eli Wright Update

Apollo sophomore guard/forward Eli Wright is having an outstanding sophomore season so far and schools are starting to take notice.

Tennessee has recently showed interest in Eli, while Mississippi State Head Coach Rick Ray is expected to come watch Eli play next week. People I've spoken with seem to think Mississippi State is likely to offer, they've already seen him play/practice twice before.

Alexdamus

Here are my predictions on where the currently undecided prospects will choose:

Matt Elam | Three-star | Defensive Tackle | John Hardin: Kentucky

Elam was supposed to already commit by now but we all know how that panned out. Have no fear big blue faithful, Elam is going to choose the Wildcats. While all signs pointed to Elam losing interest in the Cats there for a while, I think that may have been a bunch of smoke. Now that the decision is getting closer and closer I think he realizes Kentucky is the best fit for him.

Alex's Recruiting Notebook - 1/17/14

Yesterday recruiting dead period ended and Coach Stoops and the Kentucky staff made visits to schools of top prospects around the state. He saw Elijah Sinderlar, went to Bowling Green but didn't not meet with any player face-to-face and checked in with Matt Elam.

Today it has been said he will meet with 2016 Male wide receiver Keion Wakefield, the No. 1 prospect in the Kentuckypreps.com rankings. Wakefield's father Ron confirmed the meeting.

The Cardinals and new Coach Bobby Petrino checked in on Trinity QB and current commitment Reggie Bonnafon according to his twitter yesterday as well.

TUBMAN WATCH

It has been confirmed that Vanderbilt coach James Franklin is leaving to become the Head Coach at Penn State. With that said, Franklin had one commitment in the 2014 class in (Louisville) Seneca DE Lloyd Tubman who will certainly be reevaluating is situation with NDS approaching.

KP, via the Twitter of Columnist Alex Davis, has already reported that Tumban will take officials with Kentucky and Purdue. Now this departure may end his commitment to Vandy since he already admitted the reason he was checking out other school was because the rumblings of Franklin's move.

Here is out live board on all things Lloyd Tubman:

1/9/14 - News of Franklin's hiring at Penn State hits news outlets and Columnist Alex Davis contacts Tubman and the prospect is going to talk with his family and get back with KP as soon as possible.

Tennessee Martin recruiting the Louisville area

The University of Tennessee at Martin has been on the recruiting tail and that tail went right through Louisville this week. The Skyhawks have been hard on recruiting athletes from the Greater Metro Area in the last few days.

Butler ATH Ta'Vaughn Morton, Central LB Philip Francis, Central SS JuJuan Hailey, Male LB Malik Malone, Male SS Mike Malone and Male OT Marcus Butler have all been invited on official visits in the month of January and are seeing a vast amount of interest from the school.

All of those athletes have yet to receive an offer from the school.

Tennessee Martin had an in-home visit with 2014 Butler (Louisville, Ky.) ATH Ta'Vaughn Morton Tuesday. Morton, who had a stellar senior season really excelled in the KHSAA playoffs and is garnering a lot of interest now that the season has ended for him.

From his accounts, the in-home visit went well. As mentioned earlier they have invited the senior on an official visit in January and he plans to take them up on that. Nothing was said about an offer during the in-home visit, but Morton believes it could come on that visit.

2015 PRP RB garnering SEC interest

Pleasure Ridge Park high school didn't have the greatest season after coming off their only championship appearance in history.

Junior Delvon Dunn, however, showed glimpses of a Division I athlete and is now hearing from schools. He is receiving a high amount of interest from Kentucky and Indiana right now. Dunn, who's older brother plays nose guard for the Louisville Cardinals, is also getting some mail from Georgia.

Kentuckypreps.com will continue to bring updates on Delvon's recruitment.

Snider remains unsigned

The No. 31 prospect in the Rivals150, Quentin Snider is said to be rethinking his commitment to Illinois and remains unsigned at the moment.

Snider has de-committed once before from one of the schools he is said to be reconsidering now, Louisville. After the de-commitment of JaQuan Lyle it make sense that the Cardinals would pursue the Ballard High School guard.

It's no secret that Snider was/is a life-long Card fan. Committing after his sophomore season says a lot about how he feels about Louisville.

They are not alone, UCLA reportedly has a voice in the talks. Snider almost picked the Bruins when he committed to Illinois.

"The thing that stood out the most to me was the atmosphere. They gym was packed and the student section was awesome."

"They told me that they hoped I could make it to more games. They also told me they would be up to see my team play when our season started. All in all it was a good game and good trip."

Tanner Johnson Quotes:

"The team as a whole shot a lot of threes throughout the game, which would be a good fit for me."

"The coaches told me they were happy that I came down and that I'm free to come to any of their home game that I want and they'll save me tickets. They also said they will be in contact and that they will watch me throughout the season."

"The thing that stood out to me most was the atmosphere and the big student section. I went to the Belmont game, which is their biggest rival, and the atmosphere was really hyped up and load in the gym."
