I say Catholic handlles OHS by slim margin... Could be a lot bigger but I hear [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD] is the appointed one so he should hold the Aces back by a touch down or two.....

Typical - I can see you're already making excuses and covering your ass if the aces lose. The [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD] excuse is irrelevant - he is a reputable offical. If I recall I remember reading on here that [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD]had last years OC/OHS game and I guess that 43 - 0 train wreck was all [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD]fault. This year won't be 43 - 0 but if I had to lay money down on this game I would put it on OHS.

Excuses excuses - I can't speak on the statement of rather or not if he is an OHS booster. But I would highly doubt that is the case. I do know however that by just simply "graduating" from said school doesn't make you a so called "booster". I've said on here a few times - we all come from somewhere and with this being such a "small" big town we are bound to have officials who graduated from local schools. You can't expect this to be like a playoff game where you bring in a out of town crew. Come one you know just as well as I do if Owensboro Catholic loses this game it will be because they lost it - not because of [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD] Officials very rarely influence the outcome of a game - now a few calls here or there might not go your way but they won't be the sole reason for the loss. That would be like saying if #87 would have caught that pass in the 2nd quarter we would have one that game. Loses never come down to just one play or two or three - it comes down to the vast majority of them combined. REMEMBER THE PLAYERS PLAY THE GAME - THE OFFICALS JUST FACILITATE THE GAME - AND THE COACHES ACT LIKE THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING BUT IT IS REALLY THE PLAYERS WHO WIN OR LOSE THE BALL GAME. I doubt he donates to the QB club or brings the coaches donuts on Saturday mornings etc.

Alright Mr. Bowlds why don't you get you licenses and suit up and officiate the game next year!

I've seen [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD] call many games for OHS and have never once witnessed what I would call playing favorites. This comes from an outsider...... no OHS or Catholic ties.

Glass half full guy - YES. But I am also a realist and I feel like OHS has the best shot at beating Bowling Green high this year than they have in many years. Do I think they will win the game? I doubt it - and I would tend to say no they don't win the game but they could and that is something that hasn't always been able to be said in this game - "OHS could win this game" - not said by all the last few years. But this year they could this year.

It's always half full when drinking out of a tall frosty mug!

I don't know which team will win this year's game. I do think it will be closer than last year. As for [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD], his father(Corky) is the official clock keeper at the OHS home games. And for most games that don't mean anything for OHS, yeah [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD]would not have any direct outcome in the game. But for games that matter(city/county games) any calls that are obvious, he will make the right call. But in the heat of the battle, if things are close and a call could go either way, if you don't think his red & black blood will influence a call then you don't know him very well.

I would say this year is their best shot in a long time. I haven't seen the Red Devils play this year, but they always give us a good game in Owensboro. Well that is good to know we somewhat are on the same page then. But I will say this, I think BG comes into this game a lot more prepared as they will have already played teams like Lexington Catholic and St. X while OHS hasn't really even been tested yet. Owensboro Catholic will be the toughest test before they play BG and I am not even sure that will really even be a "true" test for Bowling Green high. I kind of doubt it. This is the last year they face off in the regular season without it really meaning anything because to do believe next year they are in the same district! I am with you though the game with OHS v. BG doesn't really mean anything just bragging rights. Both teams just want to get to the state final.

The sole reason I am picking OHS to beat Owensboro Catholic and possibly Bowling Green high is because I was told by several reliable sources that OHS was trained during the off season by legendary fitness instructor and inventor of the gazelle Tony Little. Somehow he has OHS ties. Something about his hair stylist aunt's kids go to OHS.

He trained OHS with the : gazelle, the shake weight, the thigh master, ab lounge 2, Buns of steel 7, Twist 'N Tone, Six second abs and last but not least the Chuck Norris Total Gym!!!! With this training this team cannot be beat!!!!

I think most OHS fans would agree that they hope [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD] isn't officiating tonight. I think with him being an OHS guy, he sometimes goes out of his way to show he isn't biased and makes some iffy calls towards OHS. Tonight, an iffy call either way, could be HUGE. For the record, I think [A REF WHO WISHES HIS NAME NOT TO BE MENTIONED -- AD] is a good ref, but officiating OHS games puts him in a tough spot.

As for the game, I think it's going to be a classic. OHS and OCath both have the tools to make deep runs in the playoffs and both can possibly make the state championship game or even win it. I think the game is going to come down to 4 key things:

1) The big play- Both teams are capable of scoring on any play that they touch the ball. Each team will need to limit the amount of big plays that they give up. If a big play is given up, then keeping the respective team out of the end zone is crucial.

2) 3rd down conversions- Last year, OCath couldn't convert on 3rd down and if the OCath offense can't stay on the field, it's going to be hard to win the game. The same can be said for OHS. If OHS can't convert 3rd downs, you're going to give the ball back to a high octane OCath offense who will score and score a ton if given enough chances.

3) Turnovers- Yeah, I know its cliche', but the team that doesn't turn the ball over has a decided advantage tonight. OHS has had fumbles problems, and that can't happen for the Devils tonight.

4) Stopping the run- To me, this is the biggest factor tonight. If OCath can't stop OHS' running game, it's hard for me to see a scenario where the Aces win. On the flip side, if OCath is successful running the ball, then the whole playbook will be open for the Aces tonight.

That leads me to my prediction. I think this game is going to be a classic and there is no doubt both teams will benefit from this high profile matchup. OCath and OHS have had snoozers the first two weeks so this challenge is really needed to get a measuring stick for what these teams need to work on. My prediction is..............
