They have a walk to the Finals. 4-A west is easy.Originally posted by tommy2tone:
Owensboro is my dark horse in 4A this year. BG is BG and has everything going for them. Could they have a let down after their win last week? The game is at Rash and it is one of the best places I have watched a HS football game. From what I hear on here, the home officials could come into play... Still think BG wins but I think the Big O will make an impressive showing.
I doubt BG "rolls" - I think this game might be closer than most think. I just have a feeling.Originally posted by BIG BLACK JACK:
Won't be a contest. BG will roll from start to finish.

There is just too many of you Owensboro boys having these "feelings" about the game. I had a very profound tingling feeling yesterday and was excited to think the game would go my way, then my wife said I had forgotten to take my medicine and ruined my euphoric buzz! The Red Devils will not be able to run wild against the Purples defense. I don't think they score over 7 points. I say 28-7 Da Purples. Last year, Bowling Green was either tied or behind on their final drive in six games. They won them all. This years St.X game was the same thing. They know how to win close games. I don't think this one will be that close. The Purples have out scored Owensboro 134-10 over the last three years and I don't see why this year would be any different.Originally posted by thelizardking1:

I thought you were going to say that profound tingling feeling yesterday was when you sat down on one of your testicles!Originally posted by Adopted Purple:

Adoptd Purple, I like the confidence. Heck you guys should be supremely confident. You referenced last year and the last 3 years, and I got good an bad news. Good news is those were 3 great years. Bad news is those players have graduated. I'm not predicting OHS to win this game by any means but Purple fans that are expecting a blowout Friday night are going to be in for a shock.Originally posted by Adopted Purple:

With all this trash talk...I wander who the referee crew is? If it's you know who and he is on these boards he might get upset with the BG people and do this...........................
Hopefully BG has a DE like this.
Correct. I misquoted. I think it's the last two years.Originally posted by W.E. Raider:

BG may have been tied or behind on their last drive in 3 games last year (McCallie, Blackman, & John Hardin)...the rest of their games were pretty much total blowouts.
Yes sir, I did, I've been eating Moonlite BBQ for 25 years, but I think my new favorite is Old Hickory. Having to choose from 200 different dishes isn't as appealing as it once was. I'm more of a quality over quantity guy now. It just means that I'm getting old! I thought I was going to have to eat a big ole piece of humble pie. Owensboro is much better than I thought. Luckily, my Purples pulled it out in the end. I expect to see the Red Devils in the 4A Finals this year with a very good shot at winning it. I hope they do!Originally posted by subsonic66:
AP you had any bbq yet
I gave you that picture of me in confidence. Blabber mouth!!!Originally posted by Mr Brownstone:

I'm a little of both. I have been known to over medicate myself every now and then and I do love baseball. This was a great game by two of the best teams in their respective class. I certainly was wrong about a blowout, but I'm a homer and have never been known for my predictions. When your team has won 48 in a row, it makes it pretty easy to pick the winner. I haven't been wrong in 31/2 years. Looks like Cameron Wallace is out for the year. That's not good. We have a lot of wounded players and have a very tough McCallie team coming in next week. Wish us luck, if we win next week, breaking the consecutive win streak will all but be assured. I would love to see a state school take that record away from Trinity!Originally posted by LilyOfTheValley:
AP, you are a baseball guy so I will cut you some slack here. The past two victories for the Purples over the Red Devils have been absolute FAILURES in the eyes of Kevin Wallace. The past two teams, who were infinitely better than the current, were expected to beat the Red Devils up and down the field exactly how the 2011 Purples team did when the game was at Rockingham. That team held the RD to negative yardage on offense and absolutely dismantled their defense and anything less than that was considered not good enough. It seems to me that the critics were right about this team when they said that this Purples team is very good defensively and not so great on the offensive side of the ball. That was confirmed by your so called "victory" over St X. I can only imagine how Kevin Wallace felt about his offense's performance in that game. Putting up only six points on a very very average team in the eyes of the St X fans is a testament to the critics being correct. When was the last time you heard of the Purples putting up less than two touchdowns? Go ahead, I'll wait. And lets not forget that this Red Devils team is better than the ones of the past. A very good run game that will cause problems for ANY defense they play and a solid defense that can wreak havoc on the Purples will make for a very interesting game for the Purples. Anyone who thinks that the Purples will "roll over" the Red Devils is either on heavy medication or is simply commentating the wrong sport. So I ask you AP, which one are you?
