Andre' Creek and Derrick Stinnet ready to lead Warren East Raiders

We just had our Blue-White scrimmage game and it was obvious who will lead the Raiders to victory this year. Andre' Creek 6'4" 220 lb. offensive tackle and Derrick Stinnett 6'0" 260 lb. offensive guard are not the talkative leaders in the locker room but they lead on the field. They get upset when a Raider running back does not hit their hole hard or bounce to the outside when available. They want every play to go through their hole because they have the technique, strength, and desire to make a hole for their talented running backs. Obviously Coach Bruni will mix up the plays throughout the game to be successful but when the day is done 75-85% of the touchdowns will come through their hole, on a sweep, or pulling play on their side of the field. They both will be 4 year letterman and 3 year returning starters and this is their 3rd year under Coach Bruni so they know his system very well. Finally, what makes them both very special is that not only are they good players, they make very good grades, and they are great kids. Go Raiders!!!!!!!!!!!

Wrestling Tournaments at North Davidson for 2007

Dear Wrestling Coaches,

Hello, my name is Danny Crotts and I hope that this post finds you all doing well and having a wonderful wrestling season. I am the head wrestling coach at North Davidson Senior High in Lexington, North Carolina. We will be hosting two tournaments in December and I am sending this email to invite you to attend either/both tournaments. I am sure few are working on their schedule for 2007 already, but I just wanted to give a heads up for the following dates: Saturday December 1st, Friday December 21st and Saturday December 22nd. I am inviting teams from the following states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, New york, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Kansas, Massachussetts, Washington, Louisiana, Deleware and Pennsylvania.

The first tournament will be the Black Knight Duals, to be held on Saturday, December 1st, 2007. I am looking for 10 – 12 teams. This was how we did King of the Mat this past year and it went rather smoothly in my opinion. I will have 4 mats going in the main gym; we will split it up into pools and then cross pool to determine place. Morehead won this tournament in 2006. I can guarantee 5 matches per team for the day.

Teams Confirmed as of this post:
1. North Davidson
2. East Davidson
3. Fay. 71st
4. Magna Vista, VA
5. Douglas Byrd
6. St. Clair County, AL

The next tournament will be King Of The Mat to be held on Friday December 21st and Saturday December 22nd of 2007. I would like to get 24 teams, though I will take up to 32 teams. I have 2 gyms to use and will have 5 mats in the main gym and 3 in the auxiliary gym. I have not yet decided if I will use our Cafeteria to host matches or not, I’d like to try to keep us all as close as can be.

Seeding will be based on a 10 match minimum with State placement from the previous year and total matches to help determine winning % ties.

This will not be a double elimination tournament. I would like to place as far back as the number of teams that we have in attendance. I would like to make sure we get all get as much mat time as we can get. No one will go 0-1 or 0-2, or even 0-3. In looking at the brackets to place all the way back, I believe everyone will get at least 5 matches.

The following teams have committed (said that they would attend next year already) as of this email:

1. West Davidson
2. East Davidson
3. Ledford
4. Bandys
5. La Plata, MD

I will try to find out all of the information I can on hotel arrangements by this summer to give a proper idea of what the rates for the overnight if you plan to spend the night on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday or all nights. If you wanted to come into town on Thursday, December 20th, our practice room mats are not used for matches and if necessary, you can either practice with us or you can have use of the room that night after our practice if you gave up practice time to travel. In the room are showers and a bathroom.

What Is up With Russellville!

Russellville beginning of the year sitting at 2-2, and doesnt look like its gonna get any better can anybody tell me what Has happened to the old 4th region contender Russellville! Many blame it on their selfish coach Dennis Pardue! They even say he was the main reason why many of there junior class players didnt not play! How in the world does any coach scheldue weak teams like he has??? This is not preparing them in any way! it Looks like Pardue is more worried bout his record than his team! Me being a BG purple and been around watching basketball before I never seen one coach deplete a program like Pardue has! How does everybody else feel?

Question about age in football

I have a son that is 13 and in the 8th grade, he does not turn 14 till July. That means he will not be 18 till the July of his Senior year, so he will be 17 basically his whole Senior year. How much of a impact do you think that will have on him football wise? should i of held him back? he makes decent grades and is above average in size and skills to most 13 year old's. I see alot of kids already 18 or going on 19 in their Senior year is why im asking. Ive been thinking about my football days and is was like night and day from a Junior to Senior, i turned 18 in Oct of my Senior year. Thoughts?

OCATH CANCELLS GAMES AGAINST CITY SCHOOLS 2007

ANY TRUTH THAT COMING 2007 OCATH NOT SCHEDULING GAMES AGAINST OBORO,APOLLO,AND DAVIESS CO. BECAUSE OF THE VOTE TO SPLIT BY PUBLIC SCHOOL. INFO FROM A CATHOLIC ALUM, STATING THOSE SCHOOLS WILL LOSE REVENUE BECAUSE CATHOLIC HAS THE BIGGER FAN BASE. ALSO THEY WOULD REPLACE THOSE GAMES WITH EVANSVILLE TEAMS. POSSIBLE EITHER CATHOLIC SCHOOLS OR PUBLIC FROM EVANSVILLE,INDIANA.

POLL: Class A's #1 Quarterback (Deaton, Pugh, Grizzle, Warf?)

Who are Class A's Top 5 returning quarterbacks?

Who is the #1 quarterback in Class A?

Somerset's Ross Deaton, Paintsville's Daniel Pugh, Raceland's Scott Grizzle and Metcalfe's Will Warf have to be among them. Same for Williamsburg's Thomas Frazier and Caverna's Bartley Weaver.

How would you rank them?
