I find that most, if not all, all-state teams are considerably biased, and this one might in your eyes as well. I've always thought of it as everyone votes for the best kids in their area. And those who vote for kids in other areas have never really seen the kids

With that thinking, I decided to put out my own all-state team.

Why do I consider my list different from all others?

I have actually watched every kid on this list play in person, in some facet. Not only that, I've watched every kid's highlight tape and their team's biggest games of the season, on video.

So I thought I'd give this a try.

This list is based on the 2014 season, but all-star games come into play as well. It's not all about stats and wins. It's not all about who they played and when. It's about the best players in the state from a real first-hand perspective.

Some of them look familiar and were on the traditional lists, but there are a few others who I think were slow played because no one really saw them.

Here is the first ever Kentucky Preps All-State Team:

Offense:

QB - Elijah Sindelar (Caldwell Co.) Sr.
RB - Damien Harris (Madison Southern) Sr.
RB - Cody Crider (Graves Co.) Sr.
RB - Marquez Trigg (Glasgow) Sr.
WR - Keion Wakefield (Male) Jr.
WR - Zy'Aire Hughes (McCracken Co.) Jr.
OL - Drake Jackson (Woodford Co.) Jr.
OL - Mason Wolfe (Henderson Co.) Sr.
OL - Landon Young (Lafayette) Jr.
OL - Sam Murrer (Covington Catholic) Sr.
OL - Cullen Reynolds (Madisonville North Hopkins) Sr.

Defense:

DL - Nick Coffey (Russell Co.) Sr.
DL - Bryant Pirtle (DeSales) Sr.
DL - Shaun Whittinghill (Moore) Sr.
DL - Heath Wiggins (Graves Co.) Sr.

Went with Shaun Whittinghill for the fourth DL spot. Kid had a great year and wasn't talked about because he went to a school in Louisville not called St. X, Trinity, Male, Manual or DeSales.
