The annual contest for the Bragging Rights Trophy. Christian County has dominated the series of late, not sure how the overall series stands although I believe Christian County has a slight edge.
The winner of this game is in the driver's seat for 5A District 1.

I have always picked County over Hoptown in this game, but feel like this is Hoptowns year. Hoptown has the edge on the line, they both have good skill players but County's are young, and County prob has edge in coaching experience. Should be a shoot out because both defenses have been weak so far this season and both offenses have been explosive.

FYI: Christian County leads the all-time series 23-22, including a playoff win over Hopkinsville in 2007.

If Hoptown is at least +2 in turnovers they'll win. Otherwise, if it's close towards the end and comes down to coaching, the Colonels win.

HHS 23 CCHS 22, HHS pulls out the win despite 5(?) turnovers. Came down to kicking game and defense for both teams.

Defensive struggle for majority of the game. HHS led 7-0 at Halftime but CCHS opened 2nd half with two touch downs to pull ahead 15-7. HHS put together a decent drive late in the 3rd but CCHS sophomore Keyron Catlett made a spectacular Interception and returned it 89 yards for the TD and it seemed as though the Colonels were in control. Tigers went three and out on next possession and the Colonels put together a nice drive that carried into the 4th quarter. CCHS had a touchdown called back and on the next play they threw a pick-6 of their own that was returned by Hopkinsville Senior Laquaris Davis 66 yards for the TD. This changed the momentum of the game. CCHS offense stalled the next drive going 3 and out. HHS scored on a 4 and long their back up QB threw up a prayer that was answered for a 37 yard TD that cut the lead to 22-20 but the two-point conversion failed. After another 3 and out and a bad punt HHS kicked a 29-yard FG to take the lead 23-22. After teams exchanged 3 & outs. CCHS put together a drive that got them inside the Hopkinsville 10 1st & goal with about 40 seconds left. After three consecutive incomplete passes the Colonels opted for the FG from the right hash. The 25 yard field goal stayed straight and was wide right with 3.6 on the clock. It was a great game for the fans. If these schools ever follow the trend and consolidate they will have a really good Football team. Unless Graves County can figure out their offense I believe this was the District Championship.
