Mayfield Tilghman Updates

3-0 Mayfield early. Cards couldn't take advantage of good field position, Tilghman holds them to a field goal.

6-0 Mayfield. Tilghman continues to be stingy on defense. Cards have gotten in the red zone twice, and Tilghman has held them to field goals twice.

Still 6-0 Mayfield at the end of 1st quarter. Tilghman defense is stingy, Mayfield's is stingy...er. Tilghman had 3 and out on each possession. Mayfield moved the ball well, but couldn't cross the goal line.

Aaaand that stingy D thing is over. Harrison finds the end zone for the cards. 13-0 Mayfield early in the 2nd.

20-6 Mayfield at the half. Tilghman found a some success in the ground, but got away from it for some reason. Offensively, Mayfield has found their groove.

Well, what started out as a good game has gotten ugly. 41-0 Mayfield in the 3rd quarter. Tilghman has some tremendous athletes as usual, but Mayfield has been the more disciplined and MUCH more physical team tonight. Mayfield has been laying the wood tonight, led by Hurt, who has been "Hurt...in" people on both sides of the ball. Sorry, I know that was terrible, but the kid really has been playing hard nosed old school football tonight, and you gotta respect it. Anyway, Looks as though the Cards will push it to 12 in a row against Tilghman, and even the series at 47 wins each ( and 10 ties). Coach Morris has the 2nd team in getting some reps now.
