Louisville hosted a group of potential prospects Wednesday night. The group toured the facilities -- which included a trip to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium -- was measured, checked out the uniforms and equipment, spoke with coaches and attended the Louisville-Pittsburgh basketball game.
With these prospect days and the high number of recruits they bring in, the majority of those in attendance will not obtain scholarship offers from the school they visit. And Wednesday at Louisville was no different.
However, there were a few that were in attendance who already had offers and/or legitimate interest from the Cardinals.
Rodjay Burns -- He was on hand for the unofficial visit, after being offered by UofL last month. It's safe to say Louisville is in the driver's seat in this one. Burns' only other offer right now is from Cincinnati and I would say it's unlikely for him to pick the Bearcats over the Cardinals. Although his recruitment is not quite over yet. Burns is seeing interest rising from all over the place right now. This camp circuit will really determine his fate. And with that said, I don't think his interest in Louisville would have much pull if some of college football's powerhouses came into the situation -- like Ohio State who recently visited him.
Walker Wood -- It's so early to start really breaking down Wood's recruitment, because he's only a sophomore. He does hold an offer from Louisville and some others are starting to take notice. What I can say is that since Louisville was his first offer it should have some kind of pull on him.
Keion Wakefield -- He does not have an offer from the Cardinals. He's now camped with them, took several visits and still no offer. So I think it's safe to say there won't be one. It's nothing about Wakefield, it's more about what Louisville wants in a slot receiver. It's never really over in recruiting, fences can be mended quite quickly. Though there's a high level of doubt he'll ever get the offer from his hometown school.
